Pair of Top-5 Finishes in CCSDS Action for Stevens

Tyler Stevens returned to action on Friday night with the second annual Kenneth Mitchell Memorial, which was held at Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Ark.).

With 25 Super Late Models entered into the night's program, Tyler hit the ground running by setting fast time in Mark Martin Automotive Qualifying and backed it up with a heat race win to lock into the pole position for the feature.

Stevens had hopes of defending his crown in the $5,555-to-win event, but would ultimately slip back to a fifth-place finish in the 40 lapper behind Logan Martin, Kyle Beard, Jamie Burford, and Morgan Bagley.

On Saturday night the action shifted to Tracey Clay's I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) for the Autism Awareness Night, which was headlined by a $5,000-to-win CCSDS program. Prelim action positioned Tyler seventh on the starting grid for the feature, and during the course of the feature he advanced to a fourth-place finish behind Kyle Beard, Logan Martin, and Mason Oberkramer.

Tyler continues to lead the latest Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings and is fifth in the latest overall series standings.
