Stevens starts MLRA season at Lucas Oil Speedway

A trip to Wheatland, Missouri, and Lucas Oil Speedway was the most recent stop on Tyler Stevens’ diverse racing calendar. Over the weekend, the Super Late Model driver was one of 44 entrants in the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) season opener at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks.”

When racing got underway in the 11th annual Spring Nationals on Friday, Stevens finished fifth in his heat race on the 3/8-mile track. However, he grabbed the checkered flag from the pole in his B-Main. He started the 40-lap, $7,000-to-win feature from the 18th position, but ran into early trouble and recorded a DNF. He was credited with a 23rd-place result.

The next night, Stevens finished seventh in his heat and registered a 10th-place result with a DNF in his consolation race, bringing his event to a close before the 60-lap, $20,000-to-win finale.
